Please bring a current resume and if possible, a head shot. Dates, times and infomation on the shows can be found below…
Before a show is cast, the audition times and dates are set. Interested actors are invited to come to the theatre and read for the director and a casting committee. During the audition, the casting team will begin to make their choices. You will be notified if you are chosen or not. If you are not cast on your first attempt, don't be discouraged. There are lots of reasons that directors cast shows the way they do, but you may have an opportunity in another show.
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions regarding auditioning for our shows.
Do I need to schedule a time for my audition? This varies depending on the style of the director - please double check the Audition info at the bottom of this page for each show's individual needs.
Do I need to bring a prepared piece? Not unless stated in the AUDITION CALL located at the bottom of this page below the Audition Information. Usually you will be asked to read a scene or multiple scenes from the play with several other actors, or you may be provided something else of the directors choice. Don't think you need to find the script and memorize it for the audition, but being prepared by having read the script certainly wouldn't hurt.
How much time will I need to commit? Rehearsal times are 3 times per week, usually 2 weeknights and a Sunday afternoon/evening, running for 6 - 8 weeks. Then the show itself runs for 4 - 5 weeks, evening performances from Thursday through Saturday and a Sunday matinee. There is also a possible holdover for an additional week.
Very Important - Bring a list of dates (conflicts) when you will not be available for rehearsals so a schedule can be worked out if you are selected.
If I don't make it into the show, can I help in other ways? Yes - absolutely! There are plenty of equally important and satisfying backstage roles that need filling before a show hits the stage, and members are always welcome to join the Production Team
