Zone Recognition Award
Presented to Mary Renvall, Langley Players
Not only has Mary been a strong member of the Langley Players, heavily supported by all LP club members in all ways, but she has also been very involved with Theatre BC and the Fraser Valley Zone, organizing many festivals over the years, etc. Not only has she arranged for Langley Players to sponsor the FVZ festival a number of times, but she has also always been on board to assist whatever club sponsored the festival, offering guidance and pitching in with whatever has been needed. Currently she is Past Zone Chair, having previously chaired the Zone committee too. Many have taken on leadership roles within our zone, but if you take a good hard look at things, few can match Mary's ability to get the job done, whatever that job is, and all the while keeping everyone connected. Her communication skills are second to none!
She has been Langley Players' President many times, she is on the 4th year of her current term. We refuse to let her go, because she has made such an impact on all our lives. She is not only a dedicated force in the community theatre world, but she is also a teacher of theatrical skills great and small, having passed on her knowledge to many volunteers over the years. She has taught us the joys of community theatre - that it's all about the community, the teamwork, and the camaraderie. She believes in team strength as well as personal growth, in that everything we do is a learning experience. And, she is also a valued friend - she has always made a point of remembering the name of everyone she meets, and of making everyone feel welcome, valuable, needed, and especially like they were a part of something great! Thank you Mary!
